Additional power

I just installed a second hard drive and noticed i was out of power for the new HDD. how can i get power to the new HDD. is there a power extension i can attach?

I assume you are talking about a 4 pin power adapter, if so go to a computer store and
buy a female plug adapter that has 2 or more male plugs on the other end.

If that's the case, then all you need is what was mentioned - a power splitter.
If you're talking about not enough power coming from your PSU however, then you'd need a PSU with a higher-rated wattage.
