I need a new HDD for my gaming system (ATA-100MOBO), I need it over 80gigs and as fast as possible. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Get one of those Western Digital WDJB's, they have a nice 8mb cache and can even compete with scsi's.

You could also get 2 40's and stripe them, but that would be much more expensive.

make sure that whatever hard drive u do get make sure its a 7200 rpm. personaly ive had very good luck with Western Digital. still using a 1.2 gb from 1992. never had problems with it or my 5 other WD drives.

Actually, the Maxtor line isn't bad neither. They're worth a look.

No they are not bad, and fairly fast in thier own right. However they are slower (and cheaper) then the WD special edition by a good amount.....

Cool, thanks for the reply guys, I'll probably go for the WD depending on the price, if not a Maxtor (already own 2, no problems so far with them).
