Is it a virus who is hitting my wireless network?

Hello,
I have "ESPRIMO Mobile V6555" Laptop, running Windows XP SP3, with which the wireless network adapter worked fine before. Now, after I bought a new router (TBLink) my laptop cannot access internet through this router wirless netowrk, and cannot even make ping command to the router address.
I tried many things to work around this problem: reinstall the driver of Wireless adapter, change the connection setting on both router and computer, cleaning ARP Cash ...etc.
*Notes:
1) the router works fine for other wireless devices like my HTC widows mobile phone and other laptop running Windows 7
2) When I assign a static IP for my laptop it can connect to the network but still could not make the ping command to the router or reach any network resourses.
Any suggestion, would be really most welcome!
thanks in advance.
3) I have Bitdefender Internet Security running and up to date.

Thanks.

under your wireless network card properties should be three tabs.

the middle one should give you a list of wireless SSIDs you connected to.

delete your SSID.

make sure you don't have a Static IP assigned.

make sure you have the wireless network password.

try to connect to your network and enter the password if asked for.
