Hello,I have a linksys n wireless that works well with att.
I am changing over to comcast and I bought a sb6121 cable modem. Over the phone, Comcast says I need a wirelss gateway too. Is that true. It doesn't seem to make sense.

Your cable modem is going to take the cable company's cable (like you plug into your TV) and provide you an Ethernet jack. The Ethernet jack is where you can plug your PC or router into. You're wireless router takes a wired Ethernet connection and provides a wireless network.

Good luck,

We did that and it was successful. Howver, we needed to register serial numbers with comcast and update the firmware on our liksys wireless router. Otherwise it was way too slow.
