Problems cloneing cds

I have a BENQ 24x10x40 CD-RW and are having major problems cloneing cds.(for my own personal backup use of course!) I have tried NERO, Clone CD and Blindwrite all with no success, they all error our at about 50-odd % with illegal function or similar errors. Can qnyone help me with this one?

Just an illegal operation? Or is it a buffer underrun?

to be precise the em is medium error:no additional sense information (3:0x02:3:xff) This is when attempting to use clone cd, I haven't been able to locate what type of error this is. Unable to remember em in Nero

I had this problem with the intel application accelerator installed on my "other" system a 815 ep based chipset .. uninstall the iaa software and try to clone the cd.. I used to uninstall it, make my back ups and reinstall it without too much problem
