Is there a real difference between aluminum and steel cases in terms of temperature? I've heard aluminum helps to dissapate (spelling?) heat evenly therefore components stay cooler. Any truth to this? If so...is the difference large enough to warrant spending more money on an aluminum case?

I don't think there is much difference. THe only difference really is they look neater and they are lighter.

If I had the cash, I'd switch to a good aluminum case. It's true that it kind of acts like a big heatsink to the inner components, so that they'll stay cooler. I'm not sure if the cost is worth it, but the accessibility and weigh are sort of big factors. I just got cut on my friend's case working on it's insides. (Then again, that's just the quality, not the difference between aluminum and steel.)

I like working with aluminum cases so much better. Those El Cheapo cases have sharp edges (OW!) everywhere and they feel too flimsy.
