Routing Cable TV Onto the Internet?!

Anyone know how to route Cable TV over the internet? I am an expat living abroad, I desparately want to watch TV from my home country. I know I need two high speed internet connections (one in my home country and one in the country I am residing in now) a TV card, and a cable TV connection.

Will I be able to change the channels and everything?

Is there anywhere on the internet I can go to to read more about this and learn how to set it up?

Can anyone please enlighten me?

You should be able to use remote access to the other computer to do it, but I don't know how the frame rates would be.

I have seen people do it using Windows Media Encoder.... it can provide streaming video over the net...

The problem comes with changing channels, however. That's why remote access is needed.

That's a mighty task you're thinking about takling. You may have an easier time getting a large, adjustable dish and some emulation equipment to decode it with...

I have some help from a friend that has done this before. As for the satellite dish, well, I am on the slope of steep mountain which blocks my view south towards the satellites, so unless I move, no can do.
