A while back I had read some stuff on an IBM DVD burner which supposedly had a special media called DVDi or something? This allowed you to author dvds that would play on all set-top dvd players as if they were original regular dvds. Are there any types of writers, or media formats that do allow this? Because from what I understand its that you can make a dvd, but not play it on a set-top dvd player. Which burners can do this if they can, or am I mistaken about something here?

does an LG 6 in 1 drive write dvds that can play on stand alone dvd players? That is one I am looking at because of low cost of the burner.
