I have a Meridian 207 CD player/pre-amp which has a faulty laser. It
has been back to Meridian who cannot repair it as they can no longer
supply a laser ( the machine is late 80's). Anyone know which transport
is used in this machine and where I may find either a replacement laser
or transport. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me on

The 207 used a Philips drive, presumably a CDM4 or a CDM9. Meridian should
be able to supply this information.

A number of companies offer laser assemblies, either NOS or pull, check for
instance Dönberg Electronics http://www.donberg.ie/

Hi

I have determined that the mechanism is a Philips CDM2/29 - Meridian
have assured me that after a world wide search they could not source
one - Dönberg appear to list it but Meridian say although some
suppliers do - they are not available!

Does another machine use this drive ? - perhaps I could fined a decent
used one!
