Your question

Internet connection sharing, crossover cable and VPN

I have a dual ethernet port motherboard (Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5).
I want to share the internet connection incoming to the main computer on one Ethernet port (source PPP router) for simultaneous use on the ethernet other port by a Wii connected via a USB to ethernet connector.

I plan to do this using Internet Connection Sharing (Windows 7 pro 64bit).

So will this require a crossover cable or just a standard ethernet cable ?

I assume this sharing will also work if my main computer is then connected to a VPN ? and that as a result both the main computer and the Wii will automatically be connected via the same VPN ?

any help greatly appreciated :-)
