My monitor reads OUT OF RANGE after tuning on my windows normally, I have to run it on "safe mode" which is anything but easy when trying to explain this to my boyfriend. What does that mean?OUT OF RANGE????? :fou:

It mean your video card is putting out a signal that is beyond the capabilities of the moniotr to display. To correct this, while in safe mode, adjust the display properties so that the monitor is getting a signal at it's native resolution.

The BEST solution is to find and install the DRIVERS for your monitor.

The drivers tell Windows what its specifications are so you can't get issues like you are having.

I can't seem to find a link, and one of the pages is down. Maybe contact them from here:

You can manually put in the settings, such as 1920x1080, 60Hz if you know them but definitely try to get the drivers.

*Are you using the DVI input?

Desktop->right-click->screen resolution

(Once your drivers are installed, the name of your monitor will appear instead of "generic monitor")
