when i put in a dvd into the disk drive it doesnt load up anything and doesnt have the disk drive in the computer how can i fix this?

Are you saying that the disk drive is not shown in device manager or as a drive in the Computer tab? Also does it open and close? I assume yes because you can put a disk in. Have you correctly connected it to you MB? Is it a SATA interface drive. If so try a different sata port on the MB. What model and brand drive is it and what MB and windows version are you using. Could be that the port you have it connected to on the MB is not enabled in the bios. More info. would be helpful to narrow down what is going on. Windows should detect it as a plug and play device without a special driver.
