Reliable option for wireless gaming

Hi, community!

I've Patriot WI-FI USB Wireless LAN Adapter IEEE 802.11 at the moment, and it's absolutely horrible for gaming, my router is about 18ish meters from my desktop. I was wondering what would be the best option for gaming, this adapter is not really reliable as my ping spikes up at random times so it's impossible to play anything.

I found this adapter(UAWIFI UA3 usb adapter), but its really expensive, is it really worth buying?

I do realize that wired(cable) is much better option but unfortunately I can't do it at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

  1. There are several 802.11 standards, which one are you using? If it's not a G or an N, upgrade.
  2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833381014&Tpk=gamebase

I game with this and use it with my Dlink DIR825 router ^ It is a huge adapter
  3. im using G, just checked.
  4. You should invest in an n router and adapter to help performance.
