Cool Edit Pro 1.1 to 1.2a - registered user needs upgrade ..

A happy, registered user of Cool Edit Pro 1.2a (Win98 system), I've
just purchased a new WinXP computer, and want to install 1.2a onto it.
I still have the original CD for 1.1, and have installed 1.1 onto my
new computer. However, I can't find any disk containing the upgrade to
1.2a, and have forgotten how that upgrade was accomplished - perhaps
it was from a download directly off the old Syntrillium web site.

Could someone please tell me how to find that upgrade from 1.1 to
1.2a? Perhaps a web site that has archived it?

Also, I was a registered user of the mp3 add-on program (which I had
purchased/downloaded directly off the Syntrillium site). How can I
install/transfer that onto my new computer?

BTW, I've already spent a lot of time on Google looking for it, but
only finding a demo version of it (which has limitations). I still
have my registration number, and simply need the installation files
that were once available for download from the now-gone Syntrillium
site.

Thanks very much for all suggestions.

Your best option is to contact Adobe customer support and get Audition
1.5 at whatever upgrade price as may apply.

What you need with Adobe is your registration details, what they can and
will do probably is to offer an upgrade to Audition 1.5 at an upgrade
price. Doing anything else is technical folly.

Best I can come up with. Driving a Ford T may be nice every once in a
while, but a Mondeo is probably a more useful everyday car today.

Kind regards

I still use my copies of CEP right along side my copies of
Adobe Audition. I can assure you that CEP is 100% as
functional. It is in no way a "Model T".

IMHO, Adobe preserved their reputation as a customer-
vicious big corporation when they closed the door on CEP
customers and eliminated CE2K.

The first suggestion is to supply a means to get in contact with you. I bet
if you try real hard you can figure out my 'real' email address. If you
get past that, I will help you out. FYI 1.2a WILL NOT WORK on XP, but 1.2
will.

I wouldn't put it beyond Adobe to re-release it sometime next year as
"Audition Elements". For $150 per (challenge-response)license.

And I still use my old CE2k installation on this here box, my follow up
had been different if he had asked about CEP 2.x. The sound of software
is a difficult issue, but I tend to prefer the end result of things done
in Audition. A less difficult issue is that CE2k is fairly slow on an
NTFS drive, you will be the one to check whether CEP 1.2 has the same
issue with slower reading of files on NTFS than on FAT32, ie. under
Win9x.

There is always Magix software, they have a very good product palette in
the "lower" part of CE2k's niche. 16 bit only, and max 48 khz, but a
good hobbyists do-all and a nice sounding one. It has a bigger brother
called Samplitude, and they also have a video suite. Adobe may have been
unwise in discontinuing the entry level product.
