Fiber Optic is certainly preferable. It is faster and more reliable than satellite.

Wireless internet is generally pretty good but usually seen in places where a wired link like regular DSL or Fiber is infeasible (such as far out rural areas)
Also if it is stormy and/or heavily cloudy, the performance of a satellite connection is effected. Online gaming is slightly slower on satellite also due to the delay of the signal being sent to the satellite and being bounced back.

They are both generally pretty good though and I'd be happy with either. But given a choice my preference is fiber.

I got it and now I understand what the mean by latency because satellite have a higher latency than fiber.. fiber is much better to be applied.

Thank you for your reply :)

I remember around 1999 my dad got my sattelite internet (DSL wasnt available in our area). The PING in gaming was WAAAY worst than my 56k modem, but I had much higher bandwidth. Too bad I wanted it for gaming! How has the technology come along?

It's come a fair way. Both my friend and I play BF3 at the same time on satellite and it runs fine most of the time, lag spikes here and there. It can't beat a cabled connection though.
