Not sure if this is posted in the right category*

So Im running Windows 7. New PC build. Mobo is Asus P8Z68 Pro V Gen 3, with i5-2500k

I normally just had a stereo system sitting on my desk that went out to a few speakers that was connected to the computer via USB. Worked fine.

I then recently plugged in my Astro Headset. With the Mixamp 5.8 which is plugged into the optical output on the Mobo. So ive been gaming with my headset and its been excellent. But when I just wanted to listen to some music through the speakers, I cant get them to work or play. No sound comes through them. its all through the headset

Is there a way I can easily change between the headset and the usb speakers without unplugging and plugging things back in?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I cant seem to figure it out.

Thanks

You may have to toggle the audio output device (not certain):

1) System Tray
2) right-click the audio icon and "playback devices"
3) choose the proper device for your speakers and "set Default"

Other:
It may also be that you have to deselect the DIGITAL OUTPUT in your software for the sound chip/card.

It was audio devices. Didnt think about right clicking to check that. I'll just have to change the default whenever I want to switch between the two, but thats not a huge deal.

Thanks a lot for your help.
