Actually, unless you actually are going to use the space, I wouldn't recommend a drive above 40GB. I think WD's best 7200 RPM drives are 40GB per platter, so more than 40 is going to give you more than 1 platter (they'll be more prone to crashing as well).
Most current drives in the IDE area other than what you mentioned have a 2MB cache.
I guess I would recommend a Maxtor as well, but just check, most motherboards (except for newer ones, like the KT333 - some models of the 266A have ATA-133 support through RAID, like a version Abit vendors) only naturally support ATA-100. You might have to buy a controller for ATA-133
If you're not looking into Maxtor or WD, IBM has some ok drives. Avoid Samsung.
