I have an older Nakamichi Cd Player.
It has a problem whenever a cd is loaded into the tray and closed it spins
for about 15 seconds
The display flashed "disc - standby" then just opens the tray an spits the
cd out

Just wondreing if anybody can shed some light on the problem and possible
fix?

Next problem. It will not play a cd from track one. I have to skip to track
2 before it will start playing.
If I just press play it looks at track 1 but just sits there doing nothing.
Also reverse is fine but FFwd acts the same as fast reverse

I would look at mechanical stuff. Clean and lube gears, slider surfaces, and
the spindle motor shaft. Make sure the disc platter and clamper are free of
debris. Inspect the plastic gears for tiny cracks or other damage. Sometimes
I will run the sled motor with an external power supply, from about 0.8
volts to 2 volts, and make sure it moves freely even at lower drive
voltages.
