Hi,
has anyone here come across the violent vibrating that certain cds might make when they spin up at full speed?

i know a few people whove seen it, it seems to read okay (with maybe a lot of error correction since its usually a bit slower read speed) but its very scary and very noisy. i use a yamaha 16x10x40 right now, but ive seen it on many drives too.

i just bought a new game, and that one sends it nuts but works and sounds like a tank on a cobbled road. its probably 1 in a 100 or so i think.

any solutions/advice?

thanks,
john.

it happens on some cds that arent perfectly round. theres not a whole lot you can do about it. theres a program named nero drive speed, you set the max speed of a drive and it wont go faster than that.

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

Yeah, some of those game labels can throw it off pretty good.

I usually make a backup of my games right off the bat, before I ever install it. So, I've not heard that super vibro sound in quite some time...
