FTA MPEG reception in Texas?

Check out http://www.lyngsat.com to get an idea of channels available on
satellites over the Americas. There are many ethnic and national services
available.

I would suggest the Fortec Lifetime Ultra. Like the ST3688, it is also a
blind search receiver. It features USALS (simplified antenna motor
control)and AC3 (digital audio). The recent firmware release makes this
unit a performer! Much easier to set up and the channel editing software is
great for customizing the receiver. I own many receivers and this one gets
the most use!

I would recommend a 90cm reflector and a motor for a good hobbyist system.
Expect to pay between $175. for a basic non-motorized system to $350. for a
mid-level motorized system.
