Wireless on laptop works on one connection and not another - help?

I have to plug an ethereal cable in order to get the internet. The message from Verizon in-home fix program says I don't have the wireless connection button turned on. What doees it look like or where is it located on the emachine E725?

On the left side of the laptop there will be a slide (or rocker) switch to turn the wireless ON or OFF.
