Need help with a TechnicsSL-1400MK2 tt. It powers up ok, but when I
push 45 rpm button, the rpm led reads 99 and nothing happens. If I push
the 33 rpm button, led reads 33, but neither manual nor auto functions
work. With auto, the platter turns and gets up to speed quickly, the
tone arm raises, then the tone arm returns to rest. With manual, the
platter does not start turning. What's wrong? Voltage selector is set
properly. Unit was bought at a moving sale and is absolutely mint, no
signs of abuse or neglect. Was in original box and packing...wonder if
it's been in trouble a long time? Owner was clueless. thanks

Can't help with this problem, but the 1400 MK2's and the other models of
that series had chronic problems with the tonearm cueing breaking, and the
necessary parts are no longer available.
