Facebook is loading slow on my PC?

Hello,It seems my PC is having problem opening Facebook page. It doesn't matter if i use Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer or if it is mine, my friends account or even not logged in, it hangs about 4 minutes, then it loads and then stops responding for another 4 minutes in all browsers simultaneously. I can use it maybe 15 seconds before it stops again for another 4 minutes.
Even on 9gag, page opens normal but chat also hangs because its connected with facebook...-_-

My internet connection is fast, 10MB/s, and all other pages work splendid!
My pc spec: Phenom B60 x4 3.4Ghz 4GB RAM, ATI 6870, 500GB HDD 7200rpm. It is manintained good, every 15 days i run malwarebytes, spybot, avast free for custom scan and disk defragmenter.

I often get this error: Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.
also this but rarely: Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.
and: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

Help! :(

UPDATE WITH SOLUTION!:---------BIG thx to jamesmcuk and blackhawk1928-------------------------------------------------------------------

Change default DNS server to openDNS server - preffered: 208.67.222.222. and alternate: 208.67.220.220. - This actually got totally rid of problem!

Try unistalling all your antivirus software temporarily. I see you mentioned AVG, is that the ONLY antivirus installed? You don't have 2 antivisus packages installed at the same time do you or anything like that? Avast maybe?
June 11, 2012 3:52:16 PM

I only have avast. I even have windows defender disabled, so conflict with multiple anti-virus program is not possible. Spybot Search & Destroy and Malwarebytes i run only manualy to deep scan system every 15 days.

I uninstaled AVAST and it still doesnt help! :/  facebook wont load as usual.

click start - type in the search cmd but don't press enter. Right click on CMD and run as administrator.

Type ipconfig /flushdns

Try running Spybot in windows safe mode make sure you update it first too

see if that helps

If not Download Hijackthis (http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/) run it and paste the results here

ALso in the command prompt (cmd) above please type:

Tracert facebook.com and post results

Everytime facebook doesnt load, those stars (*) start to appear...:/

I will try Spybot now in safe mode...
June 14, 2012 9:40:21 PM

Hmmm nothing much odd there apart from the taceroute dropouts.

Please try http://hidemyass.com/proxy/ and see if you can get face book through that.

If so try and set your DNS servers to OpenDNS https://www.opendns.com/opendns-ip-addresses/ and see if that helps. Just set the ones on the PC not the router.

If not Create a system restore point and go in to command prompt using the run as admin method and type

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Local Area Connection" mtu=900 store=persistent

you will have to substitute the local area connection for thee name of your active net interface but that is the common wired name.

Flush the DNS as above then Reboot Router and PC

Hey man, thank you very much for your help! I updated Spybot, went into safe mode, scanned, found 8 threats, cleaned, rebooted, and Facebook works much better now! :D

It hangs maybe for 5-10 seconds every 5-10 minutes now, but works great! :D

Here are threats that are found! thanks again! :D

Looks like Fraud.COdec x 3 was the cause there as the others are not much to worry about. Glad its working

Did you change your DNS?

Control Panel>Network settings>advanced properties of your adaptor>manually set DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 208.67.222.222

Wow, this actually totally did the trick! :D  Can you tell my why this helped...?

I did get some improvements after doing Spybot scan in safemode, but problem was still there, but this changing of DNS server totally got got rid of my problem! :)  Thanks guys!!!

The DNS servers convert your domain name e.g. facebook.com to its IP address and if your ISP has problems with its DNS Servers or its cache is out of date it may not know where to look for the information or worse may send you back old or incorrect information. Changing to a big DNS service like Open DNS or Googles will ensure that you get a better an more up to date DNS result each time.

Hey vajsimilan actually neither ur computer have any problem nor facebook what happened is that some of the underwater data cables which connect india with rest of the world have suffered some serious damages it may take upto 2 weeks to repair them so the operators have routed most of the data transmissions to other routes as a result the traffic is more and u r facing problems

WOW! That worked instantly! (I just changed the DNS as per OpenDNS's instructions. Haven't even restarted anything yet)
Had a problem with Facebook since I installed Fotobounce. My COMODO security saw some... suspicious stuff, alerted me, but I "TRUST"ed everything. So then, some things changed, and the most obvious was Facebook wouldn't really load anymore, no matter how long it took...

AVOID FOTOBOUNCE!

Now I gotta spyware check and such... :'/
