It's a good price, I ordered 4 16x Lite-On burners for work for that price just a couple months ago.

Sure, if you ignore the fact that anything Sony makes with moving parts wears out in 12 months. This is just my opinion. Also, consider the software they bundle. I have been unimpressed w/ Sony's software.

Just for the record my first Sony CDRW I ended up eating it on that one, I presently have one in my machine and my wifes machine, however from the marvelous support I've received from the Sony Corporation, I will not purchase another Sony computer product whatsoever! At least for the price you're quoting even if its a dud you haven't lost much.

yeah... sony sucks. i've sworn never to buy a sony product whatsoever again in ma life. maybe they are good for something else but certainly not here--- computer hardware.

I have the OEM version of that drive. It works with Nero, that NTI stuff that came with it, but refuses to work with roxio's easy cd creator. It is not supported by Roxio yet, just a heads up in case you also use roxio...

Add me to the list of Sony haters. I loved Sony for years because the innovation that company has is amazing. The last 2 Sony products I bought have SUCKed and I will never buy sony again.

You can get a similar TDK for about $75. I love my 40/12/48 velo.

I hate my 8x Phillips BTW. It has only ever worked at 4x and it is my second one (took first one back cause it didn't work at all).
