Two Routers, One Modem

Hello,
My roomate and I have one network. She has Windows Vista and all of my computers run on Windows 7. This creates a problem with our home network. I have a Linksys router. How do I add a second Linksys router for two separate networks?

what problem do they create?

change the LAN IP of the second router to 192.168.5.1

assign a Static IP to the WAN side of the second router like 192.168.1.254, netmask 255.255.255.0, Gateway and DNS 192.168.1.1 (should be the IP of the Main router)

enter 192.168.1.254 into the DMZ of main router
