Hello, I have reason to believe that someone is accessing my internet down to and including my emails. My Home Page, some stored emails have disappeared, today I was typing an email to send and all of a sudden my letters started being in italics. I turned off the italic button and someone turned it back on. I am not computer savvy and I don't know what to do, but I do know that the internet modem password need to be changed. (I think), but I really have no clue.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

You definitely need to change your wireless security key and here's a link to the Sticky Post on this subject. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/38111-18-find-change-wireless-security

However, it may be that there's a keylogger in your system so you need to run some strong anti-malware utilities, starting with MalwareBytes. Go to http://www.malwarebytes.org and download the programme. Install and update it and restart onto Safe Mode with Networking by tapping Function 8 as Windows starts to load.

Update once again then run the full scan. Click on Shopw Results then on Remove Selected when the scan finishes then restart back into Normal Mode and open MBAM again. Click on Logs and copy and paste the scan log back here so we can see what's going on.

Please post back if you need more advice.

I am not computer savvy too, but how could a hacker accessing one's e-mail by an invisible monitoring software? Is there another way to get in? And how to aviod?
