After having installed Windows XP Professional my PC will no longer shut down and use the ATX power supply to turn off completely. Instead I get the message 'You can now turn off your computer'. I am using the ASUS k7m motherboard. What could be the cause of this?

disable standby in the power options of the control panel.
worked on my little brothers computer.
used to have to turn it off by holding the power button when it showed that "you can now turn off your computer" screen.
but all works fine with hibernation/standby turned off...plus, who really uses that anyways?
