Hi,
I downloaded a bunch of applications and started installing them.
BUT, when I unzipped, unpacked and installed one of them I got the following error message:
error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot load shared object file: Error 27

NOW, I can't boot Linux, and I get the same error massage followed by: Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!

Help me!!!!

Does anybody know how to fix this problem? Bearing in mind that I can't get a command prompt to make dirs and stuff.

Thanks for any help,
Mike.

Boot the install CD in rescue mode, and try to fix it manually. You can reinstall broken packages from the CD. It might get kinda tricky.

The easiest option will to back up the config files you want to keep, backup your home directory (+ whatever you need), and reinstall.
