looking to buy a DVD-R /CD-R need help

i am thinking of buying a dvd-r that also dose cd-r. i was wondering if ne1 knows of a brand or modle that i should look 4. is having a good buffer on such units good to. i would hate to wasted 5-10$ on an underburned dvd
cheaper the better

They are all different in there own respects, I asked the same question here about a week ago. I was referred to www.tech-report.com, it was helpful. You can also try www.proh.com, there I found some useful info also. You will have to do a little hunting on this site, but the info is there...Go to these sites to educate yourself and formulate your very own opinion. My personal opinion, Im still researching, but I am leaning towards DVD+R/RW, it reads both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW media, but will not read DVD-RAM...no matter any how, the aforementioned are the industry standards, DVD-RAM will wither and die just as CD-RAM did.
