i know that a TV usually have 640x480 resolution, but how do DVDs look when played through the computer onto a TV?

It's great and looks like watching any other movie on TV. I always use my TV to watch DVD movies, as TV screen is much bigger than my 17 inch LG Monitor.

It really depends on the card. Some cards make the picture look dark.
