Okay, I am planning on building a new pc. I do not have the ability (at the moment) to connect with an ethernet cable. I need to use a wireless adapter of some sort. I have heard that the PCI wireless works, but could have connectivity issues.
I just needed to know, if I buy a USB wifi adapter, do I connect to a home network or would it work like some of these ones that cost on your phone bill and junk? I just want the ability to connect to my home network, until I am able to run my wires to my router. Any help would be appreciated.

usb wifi adaptor would be cheaper and works just as well. you would connect it to your wireless router to use your home's existing internet connection.
