Fortec Star DVB-786NA

I have a Fortec Star DVB-786NA.

It is running its original software, but I noticed their website has a
software download section. Do I need to upgrade my software? Has anyone
done this before?

Also, the Fortec Lifetime Ultra model looks interesting. Anyone know what
it does that the DVB-786NA does not do?
