I have an 8.5 paraclipse dish. I added a new feed
with a Ku lnb which I didn't have before. C-band
come in fine picture looks great but low signal
strength and extremely low quality on FTA.

I think it's the mesh.

mesh isn't cheap, make sure it is the mesh before you go that
far.

For the original mesh, try contacting Norm Brunner (from Paraclipse,
now at Patriot Antennas). He's a great guy, will help you one way or
another, been dealing well with him for a long time.

He still has means to a lot of the inventory from when Paraclipse
closed (or did as of last year when i replaced my mesh).

A place in Miami, Prosat can sell you the good KU mesh if you really
want to torture yourself. I think they sell gloves as well. :)

Be advised, it is very important to slide the feedhorn in and out and
center it good for kU as well as adjusting the elevation of the dish.
KU is like hitting a dime, while C is like hitting a paint can lid.

I have an 81/2 foot paraclipse from 1985. I currently have C and Ku feeds,I
dont have any problems with signal quality on C or Ku. It take alot of time
and playing around to get it tuned .

As much as I hated building and installing them, I have always loved
them. The finest C/KU dish ever produced for the home market. Of
course when you could put your pinky through the mesh it wouldn't
perform well on KU. I've had the pleasure of changing out a number of
them through the years. Amazing performance after that.

I just replaced the actuator on the oldest Paraclipse 14.5 I have ever
seen. The mount didn't have the capacity to rotate azimuth. I would
love to know how you aligned the square post in the ground before
the install. Nonetheless, this gentlemans 4DTV was showing 99
qualities everywhere including some on KU. Even more amazing was the
LNBs were blue Echostars.
