when troubleshooting my internet connection I discovered other users/computers have access to my computer through the internet. One of those files was filled with photos. It was my neighbor's computer. How do I remove all of her info from my computer and prevent this from happening again??

You need to set up a password for your router, most do have passwords pre-installed,can usually be found underneath the router or on the back. If its already passworded then id recommend changing the password.

Ahhh! I was too lazy to get my own router so tapped into an unsecured wireless. That will teach me. One month after this post I did get my own wireless router and it is password secured. (I believe on a scale of low/medium/high, mine falls under Armageddon Proof. To any hackers out there, please do not see this as a challenge as you will only get housewife browsing and my neighbors photos. (which I still don't know how to get rid of, since I have not stumbled across them again) What's with that???

Thanks for the help all and sorry for the late response.

Not sure what OS you are using, but I strongly suspect this computer is running Windows, probably 7 as it likes to talk to everything... Make absolutely certain that you have file and printer sharing turned off, and the firewall turned on...

Take ownership of the files in question, and delete them...

And be very, very, very glad they didn't shove a porn archive onto your hard disk...

Google Windows (your version) security HOWTO and do some reading. You need to secure your system to keep this kind of gunk from happening to you...

Don't know why you are confused as to what happened, you were connecting to their network when you connected to their wireless, putting your computer in the same network as theirs. You probably saw the shares they have setup. So you have nothing to get rid of, since you are no longer connected to their network.

It's like walking into their house and wondering why all their stuff is there.
