Hey all. My grandfather recently visited, and his rental car had a
radio that scrolled the name and artist of the song playing, as well as
the name of the station... and this wasn't satellite radio. At least,
I'm pretty sure that's not what it was, because we were definitely
listening to FM radio stations only. What's this technology called? I'm
looking to get my dad the same sort of radio and I can't find it
anywhere. Thanks.

RDS. It comes OEM in alot of vehicles. Typically GM IME. Not sure of any
aftermarket head units that feature it, or that I've noticed.

Blaupunkt has RDS. The feature is put to better use in Europe.
