I have a GA-7VRXP. I plan on getting 3 Maxtor 40GB and a Westerndigital 120GB and putting them in a RAID 0+1 configuration. The thing that i have two connectors for raid and i don't know if i'll be able to have the WD 120GB on the same cable as the Maxtor 40GB. Reason 1 the manual does not say if it's possible. Reason 2 The maxtor is a ATA133 and WD is ATA100 and i dont know if they can run together at that speed. Can anybody help me? thanks

It will work, BUT! it will not be a fully optimized array setup because the drives will clock down to the lowest settings. Which means the entire array will probably run at ATA100, and show size of 40GB even on the 120Gig, out of curiousity why would you do that do you already have the 120 WD and you just want to try and use it. Your best optimization is to have four identical drives.

That board won't do RAID 0+1 according to the Promise controller specification.
