Hello,
how do I do a clean install of 64 bit windows 7 replacing 32 bit windows 7? I purchased a separate 64 bit disk. Before the Windows 7 32 bit, it was vista 64 bit, so the system is a 64 bit system. I just need to know how to get it going. When I insert the 64 bit disk, all it says is that it is incompatible. So what do I do?

Backup your files, data etc that you need.
Insert the Win7 disk in your DVD Drive > reboot.
Press any key to continue, I'm assuming you know what to do next.
Do a clean install. Format your local drives, if you want to. Install the Win7 64 bit on your (C?) drive. It will automatically reboot.

NOTE: You may choose to keep your older files in (C?) drive. It will appear as a 'windows.old' folder, in which all of your previous data will be stored. You can then later take back any files from the folder. But mind you, it will take a whole lot of disk space.
One you're sure that you don't need any more files, you may choose to remove the folder, thus giving you back the space it took.
