I recently built a new computer and it runs a wired connection. I was having problems with dns dropping.until i set static ip and dns. But now whenever my computer is on my router doesn't broadcast a wireless signal and none of my devices can connect to wireless until I turn off my computer. The router is a linksys wrt54g2

wow that is really weird. how close is your computer to the router? It is possible the computer is creating some EMI that is interfering with the wireless router.

About 10-15 feet away, in the same spot I used the laptop I had before this.

i have no idea why that would be happening. the only thing I can suggest is to try a different network adapter for your desktop. and on a different note I believe your router is supported by dd-wrt.

Well there has been an update. Apparently it wasn't my computer causing the issue. Apparently it was actually cutting out when 3 or 4 of the wired devices were on. Could this just be a firmware problem or is it time for a new router?
