Is 500 gb hard drive on a computer good?

Last response: in Windows 7

What do you want to use it for? If it's just to save a few documents, pictures and music it's fine, but if you want to store lots of movies etc. best go for a bigger one as it won't cost that much more. If you're looking for better performance and not bothered by capacity you could get an SSD to run your Operating System and Programs, but they are still very expensive in comparison per Gb.

depends what you do with the computer

500gb is more than enough for most users

if you need more most computer shops will happy put it in and set it up for you as it will only take a few mins

you can add more or a bigger hdd at any time

500gb is about standard now. sizes go upto 3tb (3000gb) but very few people will actually need one this size

500 GB is a good "average" size hard drive for a "typical" (whatever that means) system. * But a 5400 rpm drive is kind of slow for a boot drive in a desktop system.

*OTOH, one of my systems has 4.6 TB of storage in it. :)
