Good morning.
I want to buy a CD player (Sony CX455) in the USA. My question is
wether the devices sold in the USA generally have a power supply only
for 110 V tension as in the USA or also the possibility to plug them in
an outlet of 220 V (f. ex. Europe).
Thanks a lot

As a rule, products sold in the US can be either way. Most
are still 120-only but a lot of new stuff with 100-250 volt
switchmode supplies seem to be appearing on the market. Hard
to predict. Ask the vendor/manufacturer.
Many (not all) US products will run on either 110 or 220. Some of those,
however, may not be happy with 50Hz at either voltage. If in doubt, I'd
check with the manufacturer.

At this point the list of audio gear that gets flustered by
50/60 Hz issues is very small.
Thank you all for your tips. Unfortunately Sony did not answer to my email
yet. They surely are not happy that I want to buy this device in the USA
(190 Euros) in comparison to Germany, savings of 300 Euros
