I cannot access my wifi using my asus laptop when iam in my room

Hello,
i have wifi connection my asus laptop cannot access it when iam in my room upstairss but my ipod can ,, what shall i do to my asus laptop.. it cn access wifi when iam in the sofa but when i go up to my room no internet connection what shall i do, please help...

One possibility is interference from neighbours WiFi on same channel

most Wifi use channel 1, 6 or 11 by default

Nirsoft have a utility to tell you what WiFi networks are in range, their signal strength and what channel is used
wirelessNetView

Most of my neighbours use channel 1 or 6 so I use 11

(this needs to be changed at WiFi Transmitter/broadband modem/router/switch)

If this does not work you need to get closer to the WiFi transmitter or buy a wireless repeater
