Programming on dish network 61.5 is being moved to 121. I am losing
BVN-TV on dish and it is going FTA. Now I have the old dish used for
DN international programming on 61.5 left over.

Can I use the remaining dish-300 antenna and dss lnb, aim it at IA5
and plug it into a DVB receiver to get fta programming and BVN-TV?

Sincerely,
Largo

Nope, you need a good Ku dish and LNBF.

Thanks Gary. I'm trying to avoid two set-top-boxes in the living
room. Do DVB-PCI cards have standard RG6 modulated TV output for
video distribution? What about S-video?

Thanks again.

Most DVB cards are DVB tuners only (IE, they tune the DVB stream and
pipe it to the PCI bus). There may be some cards with S-video out. You
can also get video cards with TV out that my work with the DVB viewing
software. A plain DVB receiver might be simpler.

121 is Ku band, the rest of DN is DBS.
BVN is supposedly going off Dish altogether, and onto IA5, requiring
another dish and receiver (and coax into your house).

Dish has not admitted it yet. It is reported on BVN-TV web site and
is going FTA. You'll have it until March, than kaput, fini, byby dish
and moves to IA5.

About everything moving to 121? BVN won't but many of the
international channels are like German TV are on 121. I have to get
Superdish for that one.

No. DTV/Dish Network lnb frequency range is 12,000-12,700 mhz. Won't
work.
