Sub-Channel

I am thinking of upgrading my current DVD-Rom coz it cannot read sub-channel information.Someone suggests that it's preferable to use TOSHIBA DVD-Readers.Would anybody please kindly give me some suggestions.

Btw, I always use my burner to read, when there's any kind of question.
