I'd like to install some outdoor speakers, that I can drive directly
from my PC sound card.
Any suggestions for speakers that are weatherproof but can go direct
from the PC to speaker without needing an amplifier? Speakers would
(ideally) be installed in a not-too-convenient location, so I'd like to
control the volume from the PC only.

Sound cards tend not to have the built in amplifier as they did years ago.
If your card does, any outdoor speaker should work. Sound card amps are
limited to a couple watts of output so don't expect high valume from the
speakers. If your card does not have an amp, there is no way around it, you
have to get a amp for the speakers.
