Hi was wondering if anyone can help. I have a LG DVD 8160B drive and was wondering what its data and audio read speed should be. I have been having trouble recording on the fly with this at 12 speed because the DVD drive cannot keep up. The cd drives are on separate channels. Is their something else i need to do to increase the DVD drives read speed?

by audio read speed you mean DAE (digital audio extraction) right?

this is almost allways slower than the top cd read speed of the drive.

best thing to do is to write everything to the hard drive first.

For high DAE speeds may I recommend Liteon LTD-163?
Have one myself, very fast...spinning above 40x read speed.
