Linking computers

The screen is busted on my laptop so I have been running it using an external screen connected thru the VGA port. I recently had to return the computer to factory default settimgs not realising it would have to re initiate the VGA port. THis is about the last part of the set up and I cannot reach it without inputting informatioon. Of course I cannot do this as the laptop screen does not work and nor dose the external screen. How would I link this laptop to another computer to take it thru the set up process
