i just upgraded one of my pc's from a p2 400 to an athlon xp 1700+.
on the p2 i was using a promise pci ide card for my hard drives. well, my mobo for the athlon is an abit kr7a-133 and i suppose it uses different ide controllers or something. my hd's are not working on that mobo.
however i installed the promise card and hooked the hard drives up to that card and it works again.
so my question:
can i get my hard drives to work on the mobo instead of using the pci card?
and if not, is there a way for me to get my pci card to recognize a 120gig HD(new and not used in the previous system), because right now it only sees about 50 gig.
