Man that's pretty weak how stuff gets obsoleted after so many promises about how everything eventually will end up being OK once the good drivers get here. Problem is good drivers never came before they finally just stopped coming.

I had a awe32 PnP, and a SBlive! Same Story both cases. I guess I'm just a slow learner.

Funny thing is the awe32 still has one damn good thing about it: works mighty fine on all the old DOS games with built in Sound Blaster 16bit support, Yeah.

When DOS comes back in vogue, maybe when hell freezes over, or CL starts delivering some drivers, whichever comes first, then maybe I'll try their stuff again.

I have never had any problems with my live cards.

I suggest the new audigy drivers i posted about in this forum.

I did not have any problem with my Live. I am using DX 8.1 on my system.

Those are audigy drivers not live 5.1...unless compaq came up with a pack that has drivers for both cards it wouldn't work, the audigy is VERY different from the live.

Before I upgraded to an Audigy, I was using DX 8.1 with a Live! 5.1 and it was fine.

On Windows Me actually, which is substantially the same as Windows 95, 98, and 98SE. The same VXD driver was used for all four OSes.
