I just finished building my computer and was in the midst of installing windows when i started to get random shutdowns. I turn it on and 30 seconds later it shuts down. I have losened screws and checked connections but can't find the source of the problem. Can someone HELP?!?

More than likely you have bad RAM or a bad power supply.

I have a feeling it is the RAM as well. I took my computer to a local techie and he checked the psu and said it was fine but he didn't have any DDR RAM to test so i am taking the machine to where i bought the parts tommorow. Hopefully it is something simple like bad RAM. Thanks for the info though.

I am soo embarassed. I didn't lock the fan over the cpu correctly so it was overheating. The motherboard automatically shutdown the computer to prevent damage. The problem was so simple , well it's fine now.

I was just about to ridicule you, but I suppose the frustration and wasted time is punishment enough.
