Taking forever to load after login

hello, i am having some trouble with my pc. it boots up relatively fast (like 20 seconds) but when i enter my password and hit enter the welcome screen stays for about 30 to 40 seconds. then when it actually goes into windows it takes like 1 minute to become usable. the network icon thing has the loading sign on it for a while then when that goes most thing begin to load.

Check your startup items on msconfig. Disable any that you don't need. Also, delay the startup of service that you need but can wait in Computer management.

oh yeah forgot to tell you that. i have checked msconfig already and dissabled everything apart from avast, catalyst control center, coretemp, curse client

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools\Advanced Tools

and view performance details in event log

Check what is holding you up.

umm there is quite alot of stuff saying warning and a few critical. now what?

Is there one saying things like "This application took longer than usual to start up, resulting in a performance degradation in the system startup process"?

That's what is slowing you down.

umm yes most of the warning ones say that and one or two of the critical ones

Uninstall the program if they are not use. If they are in use or if they are drivers, update them and see if things gets better.
